Key Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials for construction projects such as furniture, frameworks, walls, floors, and cabinets.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and building plans to meet project specifications.
- Repair and refurbish wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures.
- Operate and maintain tools and machinery such as saws, drills, and planers.
- Collaborate with construction teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a related field (minimum 3 years).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery.
- Attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in a construction environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in construction projects within Somalia.
- Knowledge of local building materials and methods.
- Ability to communicate in Somali and/or English.
